Join the Conscious Combat Club (CCC) for a one-hour kickboxing workshop introducing our unique, trauma-informed approach to kickboxing developed specifically to support recovery and empowerment for women and gender-diverse people who have experienced gender-based violence and other forms of trauma.

The CCC is a registered charity and Australian trauma-informed martial arts program designed by and for women, including trans women and non-binary people who identify with womanhood.

This session is open to people of all genders.

What to Expect
In this kickboxing class, we invite you take off your shoes and learn some basic kickboxing techniques: the jab, cross, hook, knee and teep.

The session will start with an embodied grounding practice and reflection on what January 26th means. We will then invite you to learn basic kickboxing movements before you work with a partner or on a punching bag to release anger and other emotions that come up.

While CCC is a trauma-informed organization this class will not include our usual onboarding and screening so please look after yourselves and consider if this class feels like too much for you.

About the Facilitator: Georgia Verry
This workshop will be led by CCC founder, Georgia Verry. Georgia has 20 years of experience across a diverse range of martial arts, including time as a semi-professional kickboxer. Formally trained as an exercise scientist, she has worked in injury rehabilitation, occupational fitness testing, and research. In collaboration with a team of psychologists, Georgia developed the CCC’s trauma-informed martial arts program - the first of its kind in Australia.

Accessibility
This workshop is inclusive and welcoming to people of all abilities. No prior movement or kickboxing experience is needed. You’re encouraged to move in a way that feels right for you. Come as you are, in any comfortable clothing, all you need to do is kick off your shoes.

The building has a vintage goods lift making it technically accessible by wheelchair, however we do not have an accessible bathroom. We're working hard to fix this and will have a solution by August 2026. If you have any questions about accessibility, please contact Georgia at [email protected]

Cost
CCC is donating this workshop. Pay as you feel. All money received will be donated to Clothing The Gaps.
