To help 6420 women and trans and gender diverse people heal and feel empowered in the face of gender-based violence by 2050

The Fight Back Project is a Trauma Informed Martial Arts program taught in safe, inclusive spaces.

With proof of concept established over the past 2 years in pop up clinics and online, we're ready to open a dedicated gym to service our community in the inner North of Melbourne.

MEESHA HALL (she/her)

Jiu-jitsu Program Coordinator

Meesha has personally healed through martial arts. She is a world champion jiu-jitsu competitor and has degrees and experience in fintech and project management. 

 

GEORGIA VERRY (she/her)

Founder

Georgia has 15 years of martial arts experience across karate, kickboxing and jiu jitsu. Georgia used her degree in exercise science to work with Victorian psychologists to interpret the relavent literature and create The Fight Back Project.

PENNY MCKAY (she/her)

LBGTQ+ Program Coordinator

Penny is an LGBTQ+ inclusion advisor, speaker and community builder. She advises health and well-being organizations on best practice to support people with diverse genders and sexualities and is a graduate of The Fight Back Project.
