Our mission is to combat gender based violence.
Gender based violence is the umbrella term for violence that impacts people because of their gender, sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Examples include intimate partner violence, family violence, stalking, sexual harassment, coercive control and sexual assault. Gender based violence "can occur in the home, at work, online or in public. It can happen within the family – like intimate partner violence – or outside it, like street harassment" (Respect Victoria).
16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence
A global campaign that encourages action to prevent and end violence against women and girls. The 16 Days of Activism begins on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25 November) and ends on International Human Rights Day (10 December).
